Tour 1: Water Wheel Wonders
Our Most Popular Tour encompasses lessons in science, math, history, social studies and early machinery as our water powered Mill is in full operation, making either apple cider or delicious homemade ice cream.
This tour encompasses a full, step by step demonstration of how "water power", the power of water going over the water wheel, is converted to mechanical energy to power the Cider Mill and the Ice Cream Mill. An age/grade appropriate presentation on the Science of Water Power (Water Wheel in action), Physics of Motion and the Mechanics of Energy. The youngest of pre-schoolers to the oldest of the group will enjoy the action, excitement and education they will receive!
Ice Cream Mill tours will include a sample of rich, creamy homemade ice cream. Apple Cider Mill tours include samples of cool, delicious apple cider, and a full explanation of how the cider was made.

Tour 2: Gem Mining & the 1849 Gold Rush
On this "hands-on" tour, your guide takes you to our Gem Stone Mining area--complete with a 16 ft. Water Tower, 180 ft. of wooden sluiceways, and 14 mini waterfalls.
Students are supplied with a bag of "mining rough" mixed with 22 varieties of semi-precious gems, including amethyst, garnet, pyrite, aventurine, topaz and more. Simple instructions are given and each person is given a sluice box to help in their "panning." The faces of young and old alike come alive as they watch their treasures appear.

Tour 3: Nature Discovery Train Ride
"All Aboard" the Eagle Mills Express as our train winds through the forest and grounds of Eagle Mills, nestled in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains along the beautiful flowing Kennyetto Creek. This is a ecological journey through nature's classroom.
Tour Time: approximately 45 minutes

Tour 4: Dino Dig
On this tour, your guide takes you to Ft. Dino for an exciting make believe archeological adventure, and everyone gets to help dig. Designed for children from 2 to 10, everyone receives a souvenir Dino Dig bucket and shovel.
The fun begins as the children unearth colorful Dino eggs in the sand. Each egg contains a baby dinosaur. Children dig for up to 3 eggs, and are awarded 2 dinosaur related prizes! They keep their bucket, shovel, eggs and prizes to take home with them.

Tour 5: Kidsville/TinyTown Pedal Carts
This interactive play and entertainment area is specifically for children from 3 to 12. Features include the 'TinyTown' Trike and Pedal Cart Track with miniature buildings where the kids drive around a controlled track under their own 'pedal' power and Sparky’s Fire House Jumping Room and Slide. There’s also a
25 ft. long, climb-on Play Train and a giant Play Tractor, two mini-excavators and lots of photo opportunity art. Kidsville will keep ‘em busy for as long as you let them play!!

Don't forget our popular Country Bakery for homebaked pies, turnovers, strudels, and our famous Cider Donuts! Bring a lunch and make use of our large picnic areas. Plenty of parking. Restroom facilities on the premises. Creamery Gift Shop and Ice Cream/Fudge Shop are also open. We can provide lunch, either boxed or catered for additional fee if requested.
Policies
Late Arrivals: Staying on schedule helps us give quality tours. We reserve the right to combine your group with others if group size, time constraints, etc., warrant it.
Rain: Eagle Mills is always open and our tour guides are ready, rain or shine. To reschedule your trip because of rain, please call early on your trip morning.
Payment Due: the day of the tour by cash or check.
